thunderbringer: (cocky)
part i.
Character name: Thor Odinson
Fandom: Marvel Comics (Cinematic)
Species: Asgardian
Character powers:
Firstly, as an Asgardian, Thor has an advantage over humans simply because of his body’s physiology. His bones and tissue are dense to the point that, stripped of all his further otherworldly powers, he can be hit by a speeding car hard enough to crack the window, yet stagger to his feet a minute later without looking any worse for wear.

Secondly, even for an Asgardian, Thor is ridiculously and insanely powerful when his abilities are uninhibited. He is likely unmatched in physical power; when wielding Mjolnir he is capable of sending multiple beings twice his size flying with a single strike. Amongst his group of warriors, he alone was able to fully stand his ground while surrounded by the Jotuns, laughing and mocking their attempts to kill him while he slaughtered dozens of them.

Besides strength, durability is on his side. This goes beyond the tissue density mentioned earlier; when at full power, Thor can take an insane amount of beating and make it look like nothing. He has taken hits from the Jotuns, been thrown through walls of buildings and fallen hundreds of feet to the ground, and even been stabbed with Gungrir, his father’s powerful spear, and shown no signs of favoring the wound afterwards. Go ahead, shoot him with guns; the bullets won't even pierce his skin.

Thor will also be arriving with his hammer, Mjolnir. Forged from the heart of a dying star, its power supposedly has no equal. Very few are able to wield Mjolnir, as one must be deemed worthy before they are even able to lift it. Its various properties and abilities can be found here; those showcased in the Marvel cinematic universe thus far are the worthiness enchantment, mystical link, weather control, and flight.

part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion?
Yes, but clear it with me first. Due to his strong will, the one doing the mind-control will likely have to be rather powerful in order to control him.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain.
Yes, but he will not be happy if he realizes someone is doing it. Thor is not much of a thinker, but he has very intense emotions. His state of mind will likely vary greatly depending on his mood. Mind readers are welcome to have access to any memories and events from Thor's movie canon, and if you'd like you can PM me and I'll headcanon up some childhood memories for your character to have access to.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up?
Yes, and again, he won't be pleased. But if you've got a telepath please let me know and I'll make an effort to give you more narration-thoughts to work with.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours?
That completely depends on Thor's mood at the time. He's not a difficult one to get a read on and tends to wear his emotions on his sleeve, so a empath won't really have an advantage over anyone else.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned?
Thor is an open person by nature, so for now I'll say everything is fair game. Though again, I will issue a warning about letting Thor become aware that your character is taking information without his permission.

part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos?
Thor is tall and built, and definitely looks a little more than human when fully suited up in his Asgardian armour.

2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses?
Well. From the Marvel wiki: "Being a god whose heritage is half-Asgardian & half-Elder God affords Thor absolute invulnerability and immunity to such human ailments as diseases, toxins, poisons, corrosives, fire, electrocution, asphyxiation, lead, and radiation poisoning." That leaves telekinetic influence; PM me to discuss this.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability.
Very much so. See the powers section above for full details, but basically there's not much that's going to actually really hurt Thor.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly?
Bring it. Thor loves battles; the grander, the better. Be warned that your character will have to be extremely skilled and powerful in order to cause him serious lasting harm, but if they make him angry enough he will not have qualms about giving them serious lasting harm. Shoot me a PM if there's something you want to work out, because we're talking about a guy that can headbutt golden titanium alloy and win.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry?
Physical appearance is fine, but Thor will not approve. I'm also open to his physical abilities being copyable, but you'll have to PM me for permission if you're interested in your character being able to wield Mjolnir and use its abilities.

part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all?
Sure; Thor's aura would be warm, bright and golden.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses?
Yes, though I'd request you clear anything with me beforehand.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)?
It would take a lot, considering Thor's personality, but it's certainly possible.
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event?
Pride and wrath would be the big ones, wrath especially. With the right taunts aimed at the right sore spots, this demigod will be quick to anger.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot?
Sure! He might not realize they're prophetic, though.

part v.
1. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances?
Unless it's specifically marked closed or private, threadjacking is always allowed. Always.
2. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced?
Oh yes. They'll have fun trying to explain things to him.
3. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)?
Nothing to worry about~
4. Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey?
Not that I can think of at the moment.
